Many residents might suggest spring and early summer as the best time to visit Aberdeen. Temperatures are fine for sightseeing and afternoons are often sunny after a chilly start. Like Edinburgh, the sunniest months in Aberdeen are May and June. It can rain at any time in Aberdeen. February to June is considerably drier than the summer and winter. Another good time to visit Aberdeen is September and October when maximum temperatures are still in the mid teens. Average winter temperatures are cold but not extreme. In common with Edinburgh, average Aberdeen maximum temperatures hover around 6º in December, January and February. Aberdeen winter weather is when the city’s cosy traditional pubs come into their own!
