Avignon Weather

Weather in Avignon - Constant bright and cloudless skies
Avignon has a temperate climate which features a large range of temperature through the year. Summers can be very hot and dry; as good as any Mediterranean beach resort, yet winters are cold and very changeable. There is always the possibility of rain at any time which sees isolated heavy summer downpours and frequent showers with strong winds in autumn and winter. Weather in Avignon is perhaps at its most pleasant between May and June when temperatures are warm and the likelihood of rain is small. The countryside at this time has a lush and verdant look. Avignon lies in the path of the notorious Mistral winds which can result in strong wind speeds in spring and summer although it is still generally clear and sunny.
