Bangkok Weather

Bangkok Weather - Year round hot sunshine
The city of Bangkok has a tropical climate that produces stable high temperatures all year round with little variation. Its climate can be divided between a wet and dry season with the period between November and April the best time to visit as there is very little chance of rain and humidity is much lower. There are also fresh and cooling winds to take the bite out of the heat, especially in the evenings. Outside these months, Bangkok it remains hot and sunny with occasional cloud and regular heavy rainfall. This combination of tropical heat and wet weather can produce very uncomfortable humid conditions on occasion.

Weather in Bangkok - High summer temperatures
In the summer months between May and September Bangkok weather is dominated by the south west monsoon blowing from the Indian Ocean. With it comes warm, humid air and plenty of cloud. Temperatures are very high at around 30c and around 6 hours of daily sunshine can still be enjoyed. Visitors should take precautions and not overdo sightseeing or walking for long periods as humidity is very high in the early summer months. Rainfall can be heavy and prolonged at times and parts of the city are liable to some flooding. Between June and September, temperatures dip slightly and only around 4 or 5 hours of sunshine are enjoyed but with much lower rainfall and steadily reducing humidity.

Bangkok Weather - Warm and tropical winter days
Winter months are more comfortable for most visiting tourists with much drier air which is often accompanied by cooling breezes. Although rain is a possibility at any time of the year, it is unlikely to be frequent or prolonged, although a number of cloudy days is possible. Temperatures are still a sunny 26c and up to 9 hours of sunshine can be enjoyed each day. When venturing outside the city into coastal or countryside areas, you will notice much reduced humidity and often pleasant breezes that can even feel slightly chilly at night.
