The Groenplaats and Market Square in Antwerp are transformed by the magical Christmas markets held every year. With carol concerts in the evening and an ice rink set up under the shadows of the gothic cathedral, this city, known for its great shopping, has a very festive atmosphere.

Bruges Christmas Markets - 24 November 2009 to 31 December 2009
From the end of November, the Market Square and the Simon Stevin Square of Bruges are magically transformed into an attractive Christmas market where you’ll enjoy the charming atmosphere and find all kinds of special Christmas presents.

Brussels Christmas Markets - 28 November 2009 to 28 January 2009
The market in Brussels is hailed as ‘Europe’s most original Christmas market’ it comprises 240 wooden chalets dotted around the Bourse (Stock Exchange), Place Sainte Catherine and the Marché aux Poissons (fish market).

Ghent Christmas Markets - 12 December 2009 to 31 December 2009
A good alternative to Bruges, Ghent’s Christmas market can be found at St Baafsplein. Live jazz, folk and rock performances, as well as Christmas carols add to the ambience and skating takes place on Emile Braunplein.
