Bruges Weather - A consistent temperate climate
Bruges enjoys a temperate maritime climate influenced by Atlantic weather systems and mirrors the climate found in the Netherlands and parts of northern France. Just a short journey from Belgium's north coastline, Bruges weather is more consistent than the central region which includes Brussels, but still prone to seasonal variations. Rain can fall at any time during the year with winter and early spring the wetter periods and summers are mostly dry and clear with mild to warm temperatures. Bruges weather does not suffer extreme conditions although visitors should prepare for the possibility of wet weather regardless of the season.
Weather In Bruges - Pleasant summers
Summer weather in Bruges should see a high proportion of clear and cloudless skies with comfortable temperatures that reach 22c on average during the month of July. While summer rainfall is certainly a possibility it is less pronounced than elsewhere in Belgium and usually falls in brief and intermittent showers. Between spells of rain or overcast conditions, sunshine is normal and a seasonal average of 7 hours of sun should be experienced. During August and September, clear daylight lasts until around 9pm and nights are pleasantly mild.
Bruges Weather - Clear and bright winter days
The winter climate of Bruges is rarely severe and though it may feel cold, daytime temperatures rarely fall below freezing. Heavy rainfall can occur in January and February and fog is also frequent. Dull rainy weather can last for several days with continuing overcast and damp conditions. Bruges weather sees little snowfall and frost cover is minimal although mid winter can experience isolated spells of strong wind. Visitors will nevertheless enjoy some fine, crisp winter days with temperatures reaching 6 - 7c and 3 hours of sunshine each day.
