Brussels Weather - A temperate climate year round
The landscape surrounding the city of Brussels is made up of gently rolling countryside that forms the most productive agricultural region in Belgium. It is green and lush for much of the year due to ample winter and spring rainfall and pleasant summers. Brussels weather can be variable at times but in general has a typically temperate northern European climate of mild winters and comfortable summer temperatures. Brussels does not suffer from the severe winter weather often experienced further south in the highland Ardennes region or the wind of the northern coast. Summer rainfall tends to be scattered showers rather than prolonged heavy downpours.

Brussels weather during winter months is reasonably mild with an average of 10 days of snowfall recorded each year and daytime temperatures rarely falling below freezing for any length of time. Mid winter mornings may see some frost which can be followed by bright and clear skies and some sunshine. Rainfall can be heavy during this time and the cycle of wet and overcast weather lasts into spring producing lovely colourful foliage and flora in the city's parks and gardens. Temperatures of up to 7c are experienced in winter with 3 hours of daily sunshine on average. A night out on a city break in Brussels will feel chilly and visitors should wrap up well.
