There are a few intriguing sights and historic attractions to take your mind off the tanned beautiful people of Cannes beach during a summer weekend break. The medieval Notre-Dame d'Esperance church and the reputedly haunted Tour de Masque are both worth exploring as is the compact but very enlightening Museum of Art and History. Some people may reel in shock during a cheap break in Cannes at the price tags of the flashy fashion boutiques but good value can be found at Rue Meynadier. This is a vibrant local market with plenty of tempting gourmet foods and cheap souvenirs to bargain for.
