Dubai Weather

Dubai weather – Sun, sun, sun!
A short break in Dubai guarantees sunshine, and lots of it! The Emirate has a sub-tropical, arid climate where blue skies can be expected most of the year. Although it gets very hot in Dubai, air-conditioning is practically everywhere so shade, and a cool atmosphere, are never far away. When planning your short weekend break ensure you take Ramadan – the Muslim month of fasting – into consideration. The celebration starts around the end of September. Whatever time of year you plan your Dubai city break, you will be blown away be the sheer scale of this expanding metropolis.

Dubai weather - Summer time gets hot!
Summer temperatures reach the mid-40s, and soar higher the further inland you go. Even the temperature of the sea can reach 37C. If you decide to visit in the hot season – from May to September – you should be aware of the ‘dress code’. Despite Dubai’s liberalness, and the searing temperatures, men and women must dress modestly. This is particularly relevant if you plan to visit nearby areas such as Sharjah. Also, take care to avoid heatstroke and sunburn, especially if you are unused to high temperatures. Cover up, drink plenty of water, use sunscreen, and wear a hat.

Dubai winter weather - Comfortably warm
The popular time to enjoy a city break in Dubai is between November and March – the winter season – when the weather is warm and sunny without being unbearably hot. Temperatures are around 23C in the daytime, while nights are cooler. As for rain, this always happens in the winter months – usually in February or March – but sometimes earlier. Dubai gets just over five inches of rainfall in the average year, which may not sound much until you compare it to the UK’s total of nearly eighty inches!
