Eurostar New Stations
The Eurostar service has switched from its' previous route from the Channel Tunnel, through the shared rail lines of south east London, and into London Waterloo International to a new route into London St Pancras International Station. Additional stations along the new route include Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International. The new link has reduced Eurostar Paris journey times to 2h15 and Eurostar to Brussels to 1h15. All trains to and from the continent have moved from Waterloo to St Pancras, with calling patterns alternating in between Stratford International, Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International.
London St Pancras International Station
A huge project was undertaken to make St. Pancras International the most important Eurostar and hub station in London. An extension to St Pancras' train shed has been constructed to hold extra platforms and extend the existing platforms to the required length for Eurostar trains. Other improvements include better connections with the Thames Link service and a potential cross river tram service. The Midland Grand Hotel, a Victorian gothic masterpiece, built by Sir George Gilbert Scott between 1868-76, has also been refurbished as part of the redevelopment.
Ebbsfleet International Station
Ebbsfleet International is a new Eurostar station off junction 2 of the M25 in Kent. There will be 9,000 car park spaces across six car parks with 3,000 spaces available for domestic passengers. Ebbsfleet International Station will see 4 Eurostar trains per hour in peak time with a 15 minute journey time to St Pancras.
Stratford International Station - No Eurostar stop
Stratford International Station is a large station, built in a sunken "box" just to the north of the current Stratford station (to be known in future as Stratford Regional). A massive new development called Stratford City is planned around the new station which is key to the London 2012 Olympic bid. Eurostar do not propose to stop any trains at the brand new Stratford International station. The trains will instead run through the station, en route to or from St Pancras International without stopping.
