Evenings can feel a little chilly during spring and autumn when stronger winds are possible although frost in the mornings doesn't usually occur until December.
Weather in Grenoble - Heaven for winter sports lovers
Grenoble is likely to see chilly conditions during a winter short break especially during January and February. This is also peak season for the hordes of skiers and snowboarders who base themselves here and there is a virtual guarantee of good snow cover in the many high altitude resorts on its doorstep. This part of the Alps can be skied right up until the end of April and a fair amount of sunshine should be enjoyed late in the season. Temperatures of up to 10c and 3 or 4 hours of daily sunshine are possible. Grenoble weather in the city itself will see a constant covering of snow in January and February and average temperatures of 2 degrees which can fall below zero in the evening. City roads and routes into the mountains are well maintained and are rarely impassable.
