Jersey Weather - British weather at its best
Jersey weather is the closest thing the UK has to a Mediterranean climate and the island boasts the warmest summers and mildest winters in the British Isles. It is however, just as changeable as elsewhere and rainfall in summer is common so visitors should prepare for the possibility of a damp day or two. In general summers are bright and relatively sunny and Jersey enjoys a surprisingly good record of sunshine in July and August, comparable to that of north and central France. Lights breezes during these months ensure perfect conditions for water sports. Winters are much cooler and wetter and while temperatures rarely ever fall to freezing, it may still feel decidedly chilly, especially by the coast.

Summer is often delightful in Jersey with perfect calm seas, fine sunny skies and pleasantly warm temperatures. Jersey weather is ideal for family short breaks although with small children common sense should prevail and the usual sun block precautions taken. Summer rainfall can be frequent and often heavy showers that are thankfully brief. High season average temperatures reach 20c falling to 16c in late September and summer evenings remain warm and pleasant without any hint of humidity.

Jersey Weather - The mildest winters in the UK
Winter days may be short and feel chilly, but Jersey weather does not suffer from the near freezing temperatures regularly found elsewhere in the UK. Temperatures are around 5 - 8c during winter months with 2 hours of sunshine each day experienced on average. Stronger wind speeds are inevitable which can get blustery and feel uncomfortable on the coast but rarely strong enough to distrupt sea transport and shipping. Fog and mist descend in early mornings from November onwards and inland frost is a possibility. Jersey weather will see winter rain with many days of damp, overcast conditions which will take the form of drizzle or brief heavy showers but will also experience many fine and bright afternoons perfect for sightseeing.
