Las Vegas Weather - An excellent record of hot sunshine
The city of Las Vegas lies in the heart of the Mojave Desert and in spite of its growing urban size, is a relatively green oasis. It has surprisingly low humidity for most of the year although during the summer temperatures can be exceedingly high, reaching 40c on occasion. Winters are mild and comfortable and there is plentiful sunshine through the year. In fact Las Vegas weather enjoys over 300 days of sunshine. Evenings are proportionally much cooler through the seasons and during winter months can feel decidedly chilly.
 
 
Weather in Las Vegas - Hot and dry summers
The traditional peak season months of July and August are actually quiet for Las Vegas standards due to the often oppressive temperatures. At this time the mercury can rise well into the high 30s centigrade for sustained periods and likely to see 11 hours of sunshine. This is an ideal time to take advantage of excellent hotel discounts and perhaps increase the odds of winning big on the roulette tables! Virtually every building has climate controlled air conditioning and you are never more than a few steps from shady respite and a cool refreshing drink. Although infrequent Las Vegas weather in summer does see some rain in the form of heavy afternoon thunderstorms. Evenings are cooler with a comfortable 16c and pleasant light breezes.
 
 
Las Vegas Weather - Mild and sunny winter breaks
Winter months in Las Vegas are mild and comfortable peaking at 20c in November. Even at this time  a winter break to Las Vegas enjoys abundant sunny days and comparatively little rainfall. The wettest months are January and February. This is also the coolest time of year with temperatures dropping to 14c with 6 hours of daily sunshine. Las Vegas city breaks will rarely see winter snow or frost but winds are a feature between the months of February and April. Although temperatures are very unlikely to reach freezing, evenings can be chilly dropping to around 5C.
