Arts and politics became increasingly influential throughout the 16th century as Duke Wilhelm V commissioned the Jesuit Michaelskirche, the famous Renaissance church and… the Hofbräuhaus brewery! In 1826 the Landshut University moved here and many of the city’s finest buildings belong to this period, constructed under the first three Bavarian kings.
