Nice Weather - A year round warm climate
Nice sits proudly on the sun drenched Cote d'Azur and enjoys enviable fine weather and hot sunshine. It has one of the best records in mainland France seeing over 270 days of sunshine each year. It also boasts warm and mild winters with its fair share of clear and bright days. Nice weather provides custom year round for tourism with sunbathing and water sports possible in all but the chilliest months and allows for rewarding activities inland such as hiking and horse riding. Annual rainfall is generally low but a little wet weather is not uncommon in summer.  

Weather In Nice - Hot and dry in summer
Summer weather in Nice is fine and dry throughout with hot sunshine and clear blue skies. Average temperatures in July and August reach 27c but extreme heat sometimes occurs producing sweltering temperatures nearing 40c, so care should be exercised on the beach particularly with young children. July sees 11 hours of daily sunshine and humidity is moderate due to cooling sea breezes. Rainfall is rare in summer but when it does occur it is generally heavy downpours accompanied by thunder.

Nice Weather - Warm and bright winter days
Nice city breaks are popular during low season for its agreeable warm climate and uncrowded beaches and daytime weather in Nice rarely becomes uncomfortably cold. A typical December day will see temperatures of 8c and up to 5 hours of sunshine. Cold and blustery Mistral winds arrive from the north but are less severe here than elsewhere along the coast as Nice is well protected by the hilly Alpe-Maritime region. Winter weather in Nice will see some rainfall and overcast conditions and visitors should prepare for some inclement weather.
