Winter is an “atmospheric” time in the west of Ireland, and surprisingly mild. Average maximum temperatures in Shannon are around 10º throughout the winter months. Temperatures rarely fall towards zero and snow is rare. However, walkers and cyclists are unlikely to appreciate weather in the Shannon region between November and February.
