The Statue of Liberty (New York)

Arguably the most famous landmark in the world, the Statue of Liberty was gifted to New York by the French in the late 19th century, and has stood proudly overlooking New York harbour ever since. Today visitors can visit Liberty Island and get a close up of the famous lady, followed by a strenuous climb up 300 steps to the statue's crown.
