Bangkok Opening Hours
Opening times of businesses and shops vary considerably, more dependent on the owner's willingness to stay open. The main tourist areas will see shops open throughout the day until late into the evening with some even operating 24 hours. In general stores open from 8am-8pm every day. Banks are open weekdays from 9am until 3pm.

Tipping & Etiquette in Bangkok
There are no hard and fast rules to tipping in Bangkok, but as a guide the more westernised the establishment, the more likely they are to expect a tip. Upscale restaurants may add a 10% service charge to bills and so no further gratuity is required. It is local custom to round up metered taxi fares to the next 5 baht.

Bangkok Food & Drink
Thai food is renowned throughout the world and there is no better place to sample its specialities than in its capital city. From simple chicken fried rice - found in literally every local eatery to thick and fiery coconut laced curries, Thai cuisine is both colourful and varied. Sample some of the delicious seafood such as butterfly prawns and red curry snapper, often served with exotic ingredients such as okra, eggplant and starfruit. Street snacks are incredibly cheap in Bangkok and if you have a sweet tooth you will be in heaven with the tempting range of sweet pastries and cakes.

Disabled Access in Bangkok
Bangkok is not an easy city for wheelchair users or reduced mobility visitors as pavement surfaces are uneven and very few public buildings have ramps and rails to assist the disabled. The Bangkok underground system and the SkyTrain network do have lift access to all platforms and personal assistance if required but public buses are inaccessible.
