Cannes Tourist Attractions
The most convenient way to see the sights of Cannes is with a French Riviera Museum Pass which allows free access to over 60 attractions in the Cannes area. Any city break here should include a visit to the Musee de la Castre which houses an exotic collection of Asian, Middle Eastern and South American artifacts and makes for an inspirational day out. It is open from 10am - 6pm and costs €7.50.

Cannes Opening Hours
Usual shopping hours are 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday with late night shopping until 9 or 10pm on Thursdays. Smaller independent shops usually close for a long lunch break daily and may not open before midday on Mondays. Stores are closed on Sundays in all but the main tourist streets and shopping centre’s. Banking hours follow the usual pattern of Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm with half day Saturday opening for selected branches.

Tipping & Etiquette In Cannes
In all but the smallest cafes, service charges will be included on the bill which can vary from 10 - 15%. Additional tips are not obligatory but will be gratefully accepted. In bars, salons, hotel lobbies and in taxis a gratuity of one or two Euros will be very welcome for a satisfactory level of service but is by no means compulsory.

Cannes Food & Drink
With its coastal location much of Cannes cuisine is unsurprisingly based around seafood with sea bass, cod, skate and salmon featuring in many delectable local dishes. Carnivores should certainly try tender beef rossini with foie gras or several tempting variations with wild boar. The quality of service and meal preparation is very high and although there are many elegant up market eateries, prices are generally comparable to UK restaurants.

Disabled Access In Cannes
There is a complimentary pre-bookable Handibus service for wheelchair users which operates a shuttle service between the main points of interest but only a small proportion of local buses are equipped with low ramp access and wheelchair spaces. A good number of mid range hotels have adapted accommodation for the disabled or infirm and early booking is advisable especially during peak summer months and during the Cannes Film Festival. There is ramp access to the beachfront at regular intervals along La Croisette for wheelchair users to enjoy the sunshine and sea air.
