Table Mountain
Every visitor should experience the euphoria of a cable car ascent to the top of Table Mountain. This 1000 metre high, 3 kilometre wide escarpment dominates the Cape Town skyline and affords truly spectacular views of the city, the Cape flats and the ocean. It enjoys a unique eco system rich in flora and fauna and is a lush natural environment that is almost unique in Africa.
Water Sports
Enjoy plenty of fun and thrills on the ocean with a day of exciting water sports action. The harbour and surrounding beaches provide a multitude of adrenaline fuelled activities such as kite surfing, sea kayaking, water skiing and more leisurely deep sea fishing. Winelands Tour
Take a trip into the green and pleasant countryside for relaxation and an appreciation of fine wine. Tour the famous Cape wineries such as Groot Constantia and Steenberg and sample some of the most refined New World wines available. It makes for a pleasant day that deserves rounding off with a meal at one of the renowned elegant country restaurants which offer spectacular views of vineyards and the ocean.
Beaches
Cape Town beaches are among the most picturesque in the world and offer something to suit everyone from vibrant, youthful water sports centres to secluded coves and beauty spots. Blue Bay is one of the most popular as it provides sweeping views of Table Mountain or relax at Clifton - a glamorous stretch of fine white sand popular with young, affluent sun worshippers.
Robben Island
The offshore penal colony of Robben Island is a thought provoking excursion and was the main focal point of Apartheid era South Africa. Housing political prisoners such as much loved former president Nelson Mandela, visitors can tour the prison facility, meet ex inmates see Mandela's own prison cell. This is a major Cape Town attraction that receives thousands of visits each year and has been well preserved to reflect authentic life in a notorious maximum security prison.
Wildlife
A city break in Cape Town can surprisingly encounter much weird and wonderful wildlife without venturing far from the city centre. See the local inhabitants at nearby Boulders beach - a vast colony of penguins or ascend to Table Mountain to experience wild baboons and porcupines who roam free. Enjoy a few hours in the Cape Town Butterfly and Bird Park or a thrilling visit to the lion sanctuary and crocodile farm - right in the heart of the city. Out on the ocean you can cruise to Seal Island or join a not to be missed whale watching expedition.
