Kuala Lumpur Tourist Attractions
Museums are a little thin on the ground in Kuala Lumpur but the interesting Muzium Negara (National Museum) is well worth a visit. Housed in a fine colonial building, it displays a wide range of weird and wonderful exhibits which include art and crafts from Malaysia's indigenous tribes, fossils and scientific inventions. Entry costs just RM7. The Sunway Lagoon Aqua Park is a popular escape for stressed city residents and is a haven of fun and thrills especially for kids. It features a multitude of water slides and rides and plenty of events and entertainment for all ages. It offers a great way to cool down in the heat and inclusive family tickets cost RM95. It is open until 9pm seven days a week.

Kuala Lumpur Opening Hours
Hours of operation for shops and businesses are a little variable although it is likely to find most stores open between the hours of 9.30am and 7pm. Department stores and shops catering to tourists tend to remain open until 9 or 10pm seven days a week. Banking hours are from 8.30am - 4.30pm weekdays. Many smaller Muslim businesses observe the Friday call to prayer and may close between the hours of noon and 2pm.

Tipping & Etiquette Kuala Lumpur
Like much of South East Asia tipping is confined to medium range and tourist restaurants and hotels which may already add a 10% service charge to bills. It is polite to leave a small tip in coffee shops and bars for a pleasant service and for taxi journeys which should be rounded up by a couple of ringgits.

Food & Drink in Kuala Lumpur
The diverse cultural make up of the city is reflected in its varied cuisine with a wide range of specialities of Indian, Chinese and Malay cooking. The popular Malay staples of nasi lemak, mie goreng and satay are found everywhere and Laksa, a spicy coconut based soup is simply delicious and surprisingly filling. Even though Malaysia is a Muslim country, pork is available throughout Kuala Lumpur in its multitude of Chinese eateries who also offer a dizzying array of flavours from steamed dumplings, fried tofu, duck and tasty seafood. Lovers of Indian food will also be impressed with the range of quality restaurants in the city. Authentic tandoor dishes, biryani, moghul style curries and martabak are just some of the local delights.

Disabled Access in Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is a difficult city to negotiate with a wheelchair with many uneven pavements and most public transport off limits. Only the Putra line section of the MRT is accessible with special disabled-access gates and elevators and the monorail system only has lifts at a handful of stations. Accomodation facilities fare better with almost all of the larger hotels offering sufficient access and amenities. Most newer public buildings - built since the 1990's - have ramps and there are many attractions that offer assistance to special needs visitors.
