Paris City Breaks
A guide to Paris
Paris is a fairly compact capital city, with just over 2 million inhabitants and approximately 6 miles in diameter. It is enclosed by the Peripherique, split in two by the River Seine and divided into 20 ‘arrondissements’. It is without a doubt one of the worlds most beautiful and dynamic capital cities, and plays host to numerous exhibitions, shows, sporting events and music festivals throughout the year. The closing stages of the Tour de France, open air classical and jazz concerts are to name but a few that appear in the city. Paris is truly one of the world's great cities, and happily blends tradition with a taste for adventure.
A city for romance
There is nowhere in the world quite like Paris for romance, and whether you're planning an engagement, honeymoon, anniversary or just a special weekend, Paris is the sophisticated, yet easily accessible choice. From the tree lined Champs-Elysees, and world class Louvre Palais Royal on the right bank, to the famous Eiffel Tower and bohemian St Germain and Latin Quarter on the left, Paris always offer something new.
Renowned shopping & great cuisine
Shopping takes on a new realm in the city of Paris, with a multitude of elegant boutiques and department stores selling the latest designer labels, often at bargain prices. There are many street markets dotted about Paris, selling everything from fresh produce to art and antiques, and with a cafe on every corner, there is always time to sample not only the famous French cuisine, but also food from around the globe.
