This is the most iconic sight in San Francisco and constitutes a true marvel of engineering. It is one of the most photogenic images in the world and a real must during any San Francisco city break. A walk across the bridge offers up glorious views of the Bay area and Victorian city skyline, made even more romantic as the famous San Francisco sea fog envelops the harbour.
 
Alcatraz
The infamous offshore prison colony of Alcatraz is among the most popular attractions in the city and is another essential activity during a city break to San Francisco. Its imposing buildings house the cells of notorious inmates such as Al Capone and the famous 'Birdman’ and offers a startling insight into life in a maximum security prison. Fisherman's Wharf
The San Francisco waterfront is the vibrant heart of the city for both locals and tourists and features an incredibly colourful array of attractions.
