Spring City Breaks
Spring City Breaks - Snow or sun
Spring can be an ideal time to visit many of the world's cities, catching them in bloom, enjoying the start of the summer, or as in the case of Geneva, Montreal or Moscow: catching the last of the snow. We've thought about some destinations that come alive in spring, so that you can get an idea for what's on offer. The more flexible you are, the better the city break deals you'll find but the following tips should help you to determine which holiday is best for you.
Spring City Breaks - The first sun
Destinations to visit where you can experience the first sun of the year are great cities like Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and Athens. Los Angeles is particularly spectacular in the spring when the flowers bloom, the green in the city starts to add a little colour and people start to make their way to the beaches. Great sights like Thai Town and the Getty Centre can all be visited on a spring break in Los Angeles. Who knows, you may even catch a glimpse of a star. Palma, in the Canary Islands, is another great destination for catching some spring sunshine. Here you can visit the Moorish architecture, check out the local castles and enjoy a spot of local sea food. Perfect for a cheap city break in Spain.
Spring City Breaks - The winter destinations
Some non-European destinations are perfect for catching the last of the winter without having to suffer through its most extreme temperatures. Cities like Montreal, where the emphasis is very much on fun. Here you can soak up the atmosphere of the numerous excellent clubs and music venues, or enjoy the vibrancy of the Latin Quarter. Winter temperatures are extreme in Montreal but you will be able to enjoy the city bathed in the last of the snow whilst parts of it become alive with colour as the flowers bloom. Another spectacular destination for some spring snow is the magical Moscow with its spectacular underground rail stations made out like Tsarist ball rooms and the world famous Red Square.
