Getting to Aberdeen Airport
Aberdeen Airport is 7 miles from the city centre. Aberdeen airport buses run to the central bus station at Guild Street from around 06.00 until 18.00. The service is less frequent at weekends. During the rush hour or when traffic is congested it may be quicker to take a train to Dyce and then go on from there by taxi. There is a private taxi company specialising in getting to Aberdeen airport.

Walking
Pedestrian maps dotted around the city are helpful for getting your bearings. Ask at the tourist office about guided walks, themed walks and night walks.

Bus
An extensive bus service runs throughout the city centre and out to the suburbs. Most routes pass along Union Street. Aberdeen buses run from 05.00 to midnight. A limited night bus service operates at weekends. Aberdeen bus fares depend on the number of fare stages crossed. Day and week passes are available. Children under five travel free.

Train
The main Aberdeen train station is on Guild Street in the city centre, near the bus station and the harbour. Rail connections to Glasgow, Edinburgh, York, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Taxi
All Aberdeen taxis are metered. Taxis can be hailed on the street or at taxi ranks. Important taxi ranks at the train and bus stations, Market Street, Chapel Street, Dee Street, Back Wynd and Justice Mill Lane. Aberdeen taxis can be hard to find at night. Book a taxi by phone for important journeys.

Bicycle
Cycling is popular in Aberdeen and several shops rent bicycles. The city is slowly acquiring cycle lanes. A popular scenic Aberdeen cycling route is along the old Deeside railway line to Peterculter
