Boston Opening Hours
Most independent stores in Boston open from 10am-7pm between Monday and Saturday and on Sundays until mid or late afternoon. Malls and large department stores generally stay open later on weekdays. Banks are open until 5pm and there are abundant ATM cash machines throughout the city. 

Tipping & Etiquette in Boston
Tipping is widely practised in the city and for hotel stays a small gratuity may be given for hotel maids and porters - 1 or 2 US$ should be sufficient. Restaurant bills will already include a service charge of 10-15% and taxi journeys should be rounded up by a similar amount.

Boston is home to many specialities that are popular throughout the USA. It is particularly renowned for seafood with lobster, clams and shrimp. New England clam chowder is delicious and filling and crab cakes are a mainstay of many restaurant menus. Apple cider is a popular tipple and for dessert lovers, blueberry pie and Boston crème doughnuts are sure to please. Portions are typically large and restaurant prices are very reasonable.

Disabled Access in Boston
Public transport is generally accessible to the disabled but travel outside the busy rush hour periods is advised. Not all buses are able to accommodate those with reduced mobility although taxi drivers are trained in assisting disabled passengers. Most public buildings feature lift or ramp access and almost all mid range hotels can accommodate disabled customers.
