Dubrovnik Tourist Attractions
The best way to take in the glorious cultural and historic significance of this unique city is a walk along the ancient walls and ramparts of Dubrovnik. Not only affording breathtaking views, it opens up a myriad of hidden courtyards and chapels and costs 15 HRK or 80HRK for a guided tour. The Dominican monastery and museum is must for art and history lovers and contains wonderful frescoes, sculpture and paintings dating back to the 14th century. It costs 10 HRK for entry and like most of Dubrovnik museums, is open from 9am until 6pm and closed on Mondays.

Dubrovnik Opening Hours
Banks and post offices are open from early morning at 8am until 7pm weekdays with larger shops and department stores operating at similar times. Saturdays are generally a half day for businesses and a small number of chain stores and tourist shops are open on Sundays.

Dubrovnik Food & Drink
The typical food of Dubrovnik has a distinct Italian influence using rich sauces and herbs along with more traditional hearty dishes such as Sausage and Potato Casserole and Dalmation cod. Pork and beef are staples of the Dubrovnik diet and come in barbequed fillets, stews and risottos. There are plenty of tempting sweets to be found in Dubrovnik restaurants such as black cherry and chocolate cake. For less authentic fayre, Dubrovnik has a wide selection of North African, Mediterranean and Greek restaurants.

Tipping & Etiquette In Dubrovnik
Large upscale restaurants usually include a service charge in the bill but for those that do not a tip of around 10% would be sufficient for a satisfactory meal. Taxi drivers do not normally expect a tip but one will always be appreciated. Visitors will experience a pleasantly relaxed pace of life in Dubrovnik where nobody seems in too much of a hurry, yet punctuality for a rendez vous or appointment is all important.

Disabled Access In Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a world heritage site with numerous ancient streets and buildings which are generally untouched by modern facilities. Disabled access is limited within the medieval centre with many obstacles and cobbled streets, so assistance will be necessary to fully appreciate its immense beauty. Having said that there are numerous hotels in all classes that have adapted rooms for wheelchair users and in general the service industry in Dubrovnik has a good awareness of the needs of disabled visitors.
