For the less adventurous there is a comprehensive bus network that covers just about everywhere within the city limits and offers a frequent, hassle free and cheap service to commuters and tourists. Buses run throughout the day at regular intervals with some routes operating 24 hours. Likewise a reliable tram system crosses the city and is handy for sightseeing, hotels and entertainment. Tickets for both services are interchangeable with fixed prices for single journeys and day passes and are available from central kiosks and shops.

Not required for a stay in a city such as Krakow, a car however affords more freedom to venture further and enjoy excursions into the countryside or to a host of other Polish cities. Car hire is available around the city and represents very good value compared to other European cities, however parking is always a chore with limited spaces available in Krakow. Taxis are a popular way to get from A to B especially during a night out in Krakow and are safe, convenient and cheap. Most hotels will arrange for taxi transport or simply hail a registered taxi cab in the street.
