Most Leeds city break visitors will be happy to walk around the city. The centre of Leeds is relatively compact, and most of the key attractions and shopping and nightlife areas are within easy walking distance of each other. Bus
Leeds buses cover the entire city. A one-day pass is available. Visitors should take advantage of the Free City Bus that regularly circles around the inner city. This free bus service is very frequent, and calls at the train station, universities, bus station, market and shopping centres. Leeds Bus and Coach Station is a short walk from the main shopping streets. Coaches for Leeds excursions, the Dales and towns like Harrogate leave from the main coach station.

Taxi
Black and white taxis can be hailed in the street or found at taxi ranks. Book a taxi by phone for important longer journeys at busy times.

Train
Visitors arriving by train will find Leeds City Station is perfectly placed for city centre hotels, shops and sightseeing. The Settle Carlisle railway line is one of the great train journeys of Britain. Leeds has good rail connections with London, Manchester, Birmingham, York and Scotland.
