Most major shops and chain stores are open from 9am until 5 or 6pm daily with later opening times in the central tourist areas. The city is full of small independent shops and boutiques that may close at lunchtime but quite often operate well into the evening. General shopping hours are likely to be much reduced during low season months and closed on Mondays. Banks operate normal office hours from Monday to Friday.
Tipping & Etiquette in Nice
Restaurant service charges are included in all bills and may vary from 10-15% of the total. Additional tipping is optional but not normally expected. For taxis and your hotel concierge one or two euro’s should suffice for a satisfactory service.
