After paying the full admission price for the first attraction, every subsequent entrance is at heavily reduced prices for a family of up to 5 people. The Musee de Petit Palais is one of the city's most intriguing art museums and definitely worth a visit. It is open daily during the summer and costs just €4.50. Avignon Food & Drink
No stay in Avignon should miss the chance to sample some of the coveted Cote du Rhone wines which can be found in every bar and restaurant in the city. Famous ratatouille is also a product of the region and will be found on many lunchtime menus. It is very different from what we are used to in the UK and usually incorporates basil, thyme, oregano, and marjoram along with copiuos amounts of pepper. Traditional country dishes include stuffed turbot Provencale - a fish and vegetable mix of artichoke hearts, shallots, tomatoes and garlic and are surprisingly filling.

Disabled Access in Avignon
Avignon is reasonably attuned to the needs of disabled visitors but some of its pavements and streets are in poor condition and may present challenges to wheelchair users. Virtually all of its cinemas and theatres can accommodate wheelchairs and the TGV rail station offers a wealth of assistance with raised platforms, ramps and plenty of disabled parking. There is a good range of hotel accommodation for all budgets that provide special needs facilities but it is essential to pre-book well in advance during the busy summer season.
