Le Vieux Port
The harbour was built in 1838, and played a major role in Bergerac’s river trading past. In the 19th century exportation of Bergerac wines and wood for barrels dominated trade. Learn about how the town grew to become what it is today.

Place Pelissiere
This is the largest and most beautiful square in Bergerac. Skin merchants once traded their goods here. Enjoy amazing views of the Saint Jacques church and bell-tower wall, the beautiful fountain, La Font-Ronde, which was once used as a washing area. A visit here is must on any Bergerac city break things-to-do list.

Bergerac Tobacco Museum
Founded in 1950, this museum is housed in the Peyrarede House in the heart of old Bergerac and exhibits the social and cultural history of tobacco in France and around the world. There are four main exhibitions: the discovery of tobacco; the social history of tobacco; tobacco and painting; and craftsmanship. There are also four rooms that are dedicated to the town’s history

The Covered Market
The market was built on this site in 1885, and was enlarged in 1934 after a devastating fire. A popular visitor attraction, browse through the different stalls that offer a wide range of arts and crafts, snacks, wines, fruits and local foods.

Aquapark Juniorland
Located on the Bergerac to Bordeaux road, this is a place children will love. There are many activities on offer here; four swimming pools with water chutes, beach volleyball, mountain biking, bowling, canoeing on the Dordogne, motor biking and mini golf.

Abbaye de Cadouin
Just 30 minutes from Bergerac is the pretty village Cadouin. The abbey here is cited as one of the ‘sites du Patrimoine mondial’ of the pilgrim routes of the Route of Saint Jaques de Compostelle. The holy shroud of Cadouin was an object of pilgrimage for eight centuries.
