Palma Attractions - Prices
There is a fabulous range of museums and galleries in Palma that is sure to satisfy the needs of art and history lovers. Some attractions are in fact free to visitors such as the cathedral tour and the Spanish Modern Art Museum. Attractions and historic sites are usually open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.30am - 6pm. The Joan Miro museum and gallery for example offers a most intriguing insight into the life and work of one of Spain's most celebrated artists and is well worth the €8 entrance fee.

Palma Opening Hours
Shop opening hours do vary but are in the main open from 9am until 8pm with a lunch and siesta break between 1.30pm and 5pm. Large chain stores and shopping malls will remain open throughout the day. Most of the specialist shops and small boutiques are unlikely to be open on Sundays and may have reduced hours during the week in the winter months. Banking hours are 10am - 4pm on weekdays with a select few open on Saturdays.

Palma Tipping & Etiquette
Tipping is normal practice for rewarding good service but is not compulsory. As a general rule allow for around 10% extra in restaurants and hotels although be wary as in some mid to high range establishments it may already be added to the bill. For taxis and hotel porters it is customary to give a gratuity of a couple of euro’s.

Food & Drink in Palma
Every visitor to Palma simply must try one of the delicious Mallorcan soups featuring lobster, fish, pork or beef with a variety of fragrant herbs and vegetables. It makes an ideal accompaniment to traditional dishes such as lamb and sweet peppers. Desserts and pastries are an integral part of the local diet and visitors should opt for a cheese filled ensaimada or a tempting 'el gato' of almonds and ice cream.

Disabled Access in Palma
Palma airport is fully accessible to disabled passengers with specially adapted ramps and dedicated disabled assistance teams. Within the city limits, orientation is relatively easy with a refreshing lack of obstacles and step down to the marina and beaches. There are adapted taxi and minibus services available for charter in Palma that can be easily arranged through many hotels.
