Perpignan Getting Around

Getting Around Perpignan
Most visitors will be happy to get around Perpignan on foot. Perpignan public transport consists of buses and trains.

Getting From Perpignan Airport
Perpignan airport is just 3 miles north of the city. The cheapest way of getting to Perpignan airport is by bus. The Perpignan airport bus runs to Perpignan train station and Perpignan bus station. The journey is short but airport buses are not especially frequent. A taxi will take around 15 minutes.

Walking
Large parts of the old centre of Perpignan are pedestrianised. Walking is the best way to enjoy colourful multicultural neighbourhoods and excellent markets and shopping streets. Good river walks and great seafront promenades in the beach resorts on the coast.

Bus
Around 20 Perpignan bus routes cover the city centre and run out to the airport and along the coast. Bus tickets can be bought from the driver. Cheaper multiple tickets are available from newsagents and shops. Buses from the main Perpignan bus station serve beach resorts and run south towards Barcelona and Spain.

Taxi
Perpignan taxis are easy to find and can be hailed on the street. Taxis are metered. A taxi to Perpignan airport should not take more than 15 minutes.

Trains
Perpignan trains run along the coast to nearby beach resorts and south towards Barcelona.

Car Hire
Longer Perpignan city breaks could explore the beautiful Languedoc Roussillon countryside and the popular beach resorts along the coast. The early autumn wine harvest is a magical time to explore the region.
