Getting around Tallinn does not present any particular difficulties. Tallinn has a well-organised public transport system. A special Tallinn Card for tourists provides unlimited use of public transport and entry to various Tallinn attractions.

Getting to/from Tallinn airport
Tallinn airport is just two miles south east of Tallinn city centre. The number 2 bus links the airport with the city centre. A taxi will take around 10 minutes.

Walking
Strolling the Old Town is the principal pleasure of a city break to Tallinn. Many of the streets are cobbled so take comfortable shoes. Organised walking tours are a good way to see the city and meet people.

Bus/Trolley bus/Tram/Minivan
Tallinn has a mix of buses, trolley buses and trams. Tallinn public transport runs from 06.00 to 24.00. Buy tickets from newsagents or from the driver. Tickets from the driver are marginally more expensive. 10 ticket packs are available. The same tickets are valid on all 3 modes of transport. Stamp tickets when you are onboard. Small minivans also ply certain city routes. Newsagents sell 1 and 2 hour, and 1 and 3 day passes.

Taxi
Tallinn taxis can be hailed in the street or ordered by phone. Tallinn taxis should be licensed and metered. Bicycle taxis operate in the Old Town.

Tallinn bus sightseeing tours are a good way to get a quick overview of the city. You can get on and off the bus as you wish. Also bicycle tours and walking tours.
