Turin Getting Around

Getting from Turin airport
Turin International Airport is located 9 miles from the city centre. The taxi terminal can be found at the Arrivals Level in front of the exit and the bus service to the city centre calls at Porta Nuova main railway station, Porta Susa railway station, via Borgaro and Caselle city centre.

Torino Card
The credit card-sized piece of plastic gives you free entry to over 100 museums in Turin as well as trams and buses. The Torino Card is available from the tourist office at Porta Nuova railway station (just opposite the platforms) and is available for three timescales, starting from the hour of first use. The options and prices are: 48 hrs – €16; 72 hrs – €18 and 5 days – €30.

Metrotorino
The Metrotorino is a metro system connecting Turin with the neighbouring city of Collegno. The first phase of the system, known as Linea 1, has 14 stations and links Fermi station in Collegno with Porta Nuova railway station in central Turin. The last stretch connecting Porta Susa railway station to Porta Nuova opened in October 2007. The system is widely regarded as one of the most modern of its kind in the world.

Tramway
This extensive tramway network, which totals 110 miles, first started in 1907 and until the 1950s was the sole public transport system of the city. The system provides a readily accessible and high-quality public transport system through much of the central city.

Railways
There are seven new stations and new lines planned. A new four-track underground line is under construction, called the Passante, which will link these seven stations with Porta Susa, the future main station of Turin (replacing Porta Nuova).

Bus
Turin has a comprehensive bus service. Tickets cost €0.90 and are available from tobacconists. Although it used to be forbidden to use a bus without buying a ticket first, these days you can buy a ticket from the driver. You must stamp it in the machine behind the driver.
