Seville Tourist Attractions
Prices to enter Seville's historic sights, museums and cultural attractions range from €3 up to €24 for a fun filled day out at the Isla Mágica Theme Park. Here families can enjoy a host of thrilling rollercoaster and water rides in historic surroundings. The park opens from 11am until 7pm daily. For just €5 entrance, a wonderful afternoon can be spent inside the outstanding Moorish palace of Alcazar containing intricate courtyards, fine art and ancient baths. The palace is open daily from 9.30am to 7pm and closed on Mondays.
Seville Opening Hours
Weekdays see most shop open at 9 or 10am and close at 12 noon for lunch. Opening again at around 5pm when the heat recedes, most remain open until 9pm. Many small independent shops may only open on Saturday mornings but large department stores and shopping centres stay open throughout the weekend. Licensing laws are reasonably relaxed in Seville with most bars staying open until around 1am as standard and several in the Santa Cruz district serving well into the early hours.
Seville Food & Drink
Cooking in Seville is one of the most distinctive in Spain with the Andalusian cocido - a meat, chickpeas and vegetable dish found on many restaurant menus. Marinated partridge, Sevilian-style duck and Andalusian-style snails are some of the more exotic offerings and the Moorish influence is strong. Many main dishes and tapas make generous use of spices such as chili, fennel, cumin, coriander and garlic. Do try one of the delicious street snacks such as alfajores, an almond and nut pastry or a San Leandro egg yolk cake.
Tipping & Etiquette In Seville
Tipping is not obligatory nor demanded in Seville and as a guide a 10% gratuity for an enjoyable meal would be sufficient, particularly as most bills do not include a service charge. Compared to the major cities of the UK, life in Seville may seem a little pedestrian, so patience is an important quality to have when queuing, especially in banks.
