Getting around Malmo
Malmo is a small manageable city. Getting around Malmo on foot is easy and pleasant. Most of the major city attractions are within easy walking distance of each other. Efficient public transport relies on buses. The Malmö Card entitles you to free public transport, free sightseeing tours and free or reduced entry to top Malmo sights and attractions. The Malmö Card is available for 1, 2 and 3 days and is valid for one adult and two children under 16. Available from tourist offices and hotels.

Getting to Malmo from Copenhagen airport
The best way to get to Malmo from Copenhagen airport is by train. Trains to Malmo from Copenhagen airport run 24 hours a day and take 20 minutes. An airport shuttle bus also connects Copenhagen with Malmo. The bus takes 40 minutes and goes via the Öresund Bridge. The amazing 10-mile long Öresund Bridge that connects Malmö and Copenhagen is a major tourist attraction in its own right. Parts are a heady 70 metres above sea level.

Getting to Malmo from Malmo airport
Malmö Airport is 18 miles south-east of Malmö. A taxi to Malmo airport will take about 25 minutes. A Malmo airport bus service runs to Malmo city centre in 35 minutes.

Walking
Malmo is known for its beautiful parks. Large parts of the old city are pedestrianised. Walking sightseeing tours are available from tourist offices and via the internet.

Bus
An extensive bus service covers the entire city centre. Malmo buses also run to the suburbs and the town of Lund.

Train to Copenhagen
Trains from Malmo to Copenhagen, across the Öresund Bridge, depart every 20 minutes from 06.00 to 24.00, and every hour at night. Malmö Central Station to Copenhagen Central Station takes just 35 minutes. The train stops at Copenhagen Airport. Local Malmo trains are good for exploring the countryside of the surrounding Skåne region

Taxi
Malmo taxis are easy to find but quite expensive.

Bicycle
Cycling is very popular in the Swedish cities of Malmo and Stockholm. Malmo is very flat and is well provided with cycle lanes and cycle paths. Malmo has several cycle hire outlets. Cycle maps are available from Malmo tourist offices.

Malmo Sightseeing Tours
Guided bus tours are a good way of rapidly taking in the major Malmo sights. Short guided boat tours of the canals around old Malmö are fun. There are also Malmo tours specialising in the area around the Öresund Bridge. It is also possible to reach Copenhagen by hydrofoil.
