Verona Getting Around

Getting from Verona airport…
Valerio Catullo Airport is located 7.5 miles to the southwest of Verona. A shuttle bus runs to Verona railway station every 20 minutes from 06:35 to 23:35, a one-way ticket costs €3.62.

VeronaCard
Verona offers a tourist discount card – the VeronaCard. It costs €8 for one day, or €12 for three days, and gives you admission to most of the museums, churches and monuments in the town, as well as unlimited use of the local buses. VeronaCards can be purchased at any participating museum, church or monument, and also at tobacconist shops.

Trains
The Central Train Station, Porta Nuovam (Newgate) – situated in the centre of the city – is walking distance to the all major historic sites, and is the crossroads of both the Milan to Venice line and the Brennero to Rome line. Verona also has rail links with Mantua, Modena, Florence, and Venice and regular services to Austria, Switzerland and Germany – 10 daily to/from Munich – are available.

Buses
The local buses for Verona are orange and powered by natural gas to reduce pollution.
There are 5 main areas that the buses serve: Line A – Piazza Bra and San Fermo; Line C – Stadio; Line D – Castelvecchio; Line E – Citadella area and Line F – Porta Palio. Blue buses travel out to Lake Garda for a day on the lake.

Bicycles
Some hotels offer free bicycles to tour the city. You can also rent bikes on Piazza Brà.

Walking
It’s easy to explorea Verona city break on foot; few vehicles are allowed in this area.
